About
SYNC FLIES provides music services to the film, television, advertising, marketing, communications, and events industries.
We are the sync and licensing division of Four Flies, a company that includes the independent record label Four Flies Records and a music publisher. Our large catalogue features library music, soundtracks and pop songs by the great Italian masters of the past, as well as contemporary reworks and brand new music with a cinematic quality.
The story behind Sync Flies began in Rome in the early 90s, when a young teen fell in love with the music coming out of the TV in his parents’ living room. A minor channel was broadcasting an obscure Italian film from a couple of decades before. The young teen was so enthralled by the soundtrack that he started tuning into the channel regularly, eventually recording dozens and dozens of older Italian films on VHS cassettes and embarking on a quest to find out more about their beautiful scores. That young teen was Pierpaolo De Sanctis, who later founded a record label, Four Flies Records, precisely to rescue that music from oblivion. Since then, the Four Flies project has continued to grow organically, first branching out into music publishing, then expanding into contemporary grooves, and now restructuring its music licensing activities into a full-service sync and licensing division.
Our team
Pierpaolo De Sanctis
Founder/Sync Manager
Aside from his partner and children, Pierpaolo’s greatest passions are film and music, and he’s managed to create a beautiful little world out of them. Besides founding and managing Four Flies, he has directed documentaries (one even won a Nastro d’Argento award), taught and written about Italian cinema of the 60s and 70s, and served as a music consultant and/or curator on remarkable projects, including the compilation Morricone Segreto (CAM Sugar/Decca). And yes, of course he’s also a digger, collector, and vinyl-only DJ.
Elena Miraglia
Sync Licensing
Elena is a DJ and former singer-songwriter with a PhD in English poetry. She taught Shakespeare and translation at university level before becoming a certified legal translator – which led her to entertainment law, which led her to music licensing, which led her to work for Four Flies. An eclectic listener, she likes a wide range of genres, but with a marked preference for groovy, melodic and airy vibes – and, you know, with all the time she spent on the Bard etc., she kind of has a thing for lyrics.
Daniele Flamini
Sync Agent/Music Supervisor
With a degree in music marketing and communication and over ten years of experience in record label management, catalogue administration, and music licensing and publishing, Daniele is the team’s quickest thinker and problem solver. Need someone to supervise a project with speed, accuracy and a smile on their face? Look no further! But make no mistake, he is also a passionate music connoisseur with an extensive record collection and countless vinyl DJ sets under his belt.
Giulia Rocca
Sync Coordinator
A seasoned music aficionado with a keen ear for emerging talent, Giulia brings her passion and expertise to our team. With a background in Cinema, Television and Media, she has a strong understanding of the industry and a knack for finding the perfect musical match. Whether she’s discovering new bands at a hidden underground venue or selecting tracks for a project, Giulia’s infectious enthusiasm and creative flair always shine through. Her outgoing personality and ability to connect with people from all walks of life make her a natural collaborator.
Noemi Cerrone Nota
DJ/Playlist Curator
An experienced DJ and music selector (and a proud mother of two!), Noemi inherited her love of music from her mum, who used to teach piano at the Conservatory in Avellino. She grew up listening to Chopin and playing around with guitars and violins, but realized pretty soon that her voracious appetite for music could not be satisfied by a single genre or style. Her brilliantly eclectic mixes and playlists are a form of storytelling through music, a captivating journey that combines the sounds of the present with moods and atmospheres from the past.
